What is D3dx9_31.dll

It is a file needed to see in game some custom contents, in particular to use some interactions of mods and hacked objects. We could call it interpreter.

How to install D3dx9_31.dll

Download the file below:

1. Extract the .rar file, for example on your desktop. You could get some warning messages from your antivirus software and firewall. Don't worry this isn't a dangerous file.

2. Open Browse directories

3. Go to the drive and folder where you've installed the game. WHERE IS INSTALLED not in the saves folder on Documents. Usually it should be on Programs/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 of the hard drive where you've installed the game (default is C:). On MAC is pretty similar.

4. Go to Game/Bin folder

5. Take D3dx9_31.dll from your desktop and insert it on Programs/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin

Note for MAC

Resource.cfg file is the same and both the folder where insert it is the same. The path to find the right folder should be something like this The Sims 3.app > Contents > Resources > transgaming > c_drive > Program Files > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Game > Bin.
