Update TS3 with official patches

Da SimsCri Simpedia.

Official game patches are updates of games data files released to solve problems and bugs. We suggest to regularly update your game.

How to install game patches

Despite The Sims 2 you don't need to visit the official website, download a file and install it. You just need to launch the game through the launcher. When you open it you will get an alert about updates available. You just need to accept, and the EADM (EA download manager) will download the patch. When the download is completed, the installation starts automatically.

We suggest to make a backup copy of your saves before updating the game.

Where to check for game patches

If you usually don't use the game launcher or you don't have an Internet connection, you can check if there are new patches available from the official website of The Sims 3

Before install the patch

  • Make a back-up copy of your game data and custom content before installing the patch.
  • Before installing the game update, remove all the default replacement files (including the censorship remover file, that must be replaced with the original file. If you don't have a backup copy of the original file, search for it in the DVD and copy it in the appropriate folder)
  • To check if everything is working fine, we suggest you to launch the game without custom content. Then, try to load it little by little, so that you can easily find any possible incompatible file. Remember this patch brings noticeable changes and old file may not work anymore.

Moreover, when you launch the game for the first time, use the Save as option anyway, then try to save normally so that you won't lose your family if there's a mistake or a game crash.
